Annapurna Special Trek to Nar/Phu Village

Trek to Nar/Phu village is one of the special trekking in Annapurna region. This provides amazing views of mountains within a touching distance. The culture of people living in Nar/Phu village still practices the medieval Tibetan culture. Phu village is the smallest village in Nepal and it is camouflage to its surrounding. This village is near to Tibet separated by Himalayan mountain range. People of this village still do its trade in Tibet. The village totally depends on agriculture and grazes Yak for their livelihood. It is interesting to know that they use dried cow dung for fire in order to save firewood. This village is far isolated and rural but it is gifted with amazing landscape and stunning views of mountain peaks. At the beginning of the trek you will capture the view of Lamjung himal and moving ahead of the trial will award you with the views of Kangaroo Himal, Gyajikang Mountain and Himlung Mountain. After crossing the Kang La pass, you will have the spectacular views of Annapurva II, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho peak and Khangsar peak. All the trials are not accessible to tea house and hotels, so you will need to sleep in tents for half of your journey.

Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, pick up and transfer to hotel

Upon arrival, our staff will pick you up and transfer you to hotel. Our Trekking Manager will discuss about the details about your trekking.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Beshi Sahar (790m) by regular bus

The drive from Kathmandu to Beshi Sahar will take approximately 08 hours. No Tourist buses are available to reach Beshi Sahar and thus we need to get a Local bus to reach Beshi Sahar. Now- a-days buses run up to Bhulbule which is one hour drive from Beshi Sahar.

Day 03: Trek to Bahun Danda (1300m)

The first Dao of the Trek is a Pleasant start crossing through lots of tea shops, few waterfalls and crossing the rivers continuously. The trial is a slow ascent until we reach at the foothill of Bahun Dada. To reach to the top of Bahun Dada we have to make a steep uphill ascent of approximately one and half hour. Bahun Dada is located at the top of the hill and provides some magnificent view typical land topography of Nepal.

Day 04: Trek to Tal (1800m)

Today's trial will start with the gentle descent downhill and few ascents and descents. The trekking trial cuts through many village settlements and tea shops. Just Before reaching Tal, you will have to make up a steep uphill ascent for about approximately one and half hour. From the top point just before descending to Tal, the view of Tal settlement looks spectacular most likely as a drained off big lake. Tal means lake in Nepalese term.

Day 05: Trek to Chame (2700m)

Chame is headquarter of Manang district and it is a market stronghold for Manang district. Upon reaching Chame, you must put your entry in the tourist check point. The trial to Chame is more ascending uphill pathway than descends. The total duration of walk will be approximately five and half hour.

Day 06: Chame to Dharmashala (3230m)

The off beaten track starts from this day and you will not be able to find village settlements or tea shops on the way. After crossing the suspension bridge from Koto, the trail passes through the temperate forests with bio diverse flora and fauna. Once you cross a river over wooden bridge, you will ascend a gentle uphill pathway for 02 hour to reach Dharmashala. You will stay overnight at the camp.

Day 07: Dharmashala to Kyang (3740m)

From Dharmashala we will ascend to higher altitudes slowly. The morning starting trail is a gentle ascent of 30 minutes duration. Then a steep uphill pathway all the way to the top of Jhunam Danda will take approximately 02 hours. From Jhunam Dada, you will have clear view of Nar Village settlement on the other side of the river. From Jhunam dada slow and gentle track of 01 hour and 30 minutes will lead you to Kyang. Overnight camping will be done at Kyang.

Day 08: Kyang to Phu village (4050m)

Kyang is actually a temporary settlement for villagers of Phu and they descend down and use it when the temperature is severe during December and January. From Kyang the track is a slow ascent at the start and the pathway is carved inside the hills and it looks rather challenging. After one and half hour slow accent there is a gradual slope walk for 02 hours and then final 45 minutes steep uphill walk to reach to the gate of Phu village. From the gate another 45 minutes walk will lead you to Phu village.

Day 09: Rest day at Phu (visit Gyajikang Base camp)

Phu village is the smallest village of Nepal and the population mainly follows Tibetan Buddhism. Near by the Phu village there is a Monastery at the top of a hill which might be a place of interest. The Monastery has some ancient Tibetan medicines. 30 minutes walk from Phu village to the North Eastern side; you will find the base camp for Mount Gyajikang and Mount Himlung. You can also capture the dazzling views of other peaks in the area.

Day 10: Phu village to Jhunam Kharka (3550m)

From Phu village we will retrace our path back to Jhunam Kharkha. The total duration of walk will be 05 hours.

Day 11: Jhunam Kharka to Nar village (4150m)

From Jhunam Kharka there is a slow descent until we reach Nar Khola for 01 hour. Then after crossing the Nar river through the suspension bridge

Day 12: Nar village to Kang La Base camp (5100m)

The journey from Nar village to Kang La base camp is very gentle pathway but without the village settlements. The pathway is a barren and off beaten pathway and in the cold season there will be few glaciers formed in the river. Annapurna Conservation Area has made a camping place at the base camp. An overnight camping will be done at this base camp.

Day 13: Kang La base camp to Lower Pisang via Kang La pass (5313m)

Kang La Pass is steeply downfall for the sight but it is not risky at all. The view from the top of Kang La Pass is spectacular and the views of Pisang peak, Kang La peak, and Tilicho peak can be captured from the top of the pass. To reach to the top, the steep climb of 02 hours must be done. After crossing the pass we slowly descend down to the Upper Pisang and stay overnight at the tea house based lodge.

Day 14: Lower Pisang to Chame (2700m)

We will retrace our pathway from Lower Pisang to Chame. The trial is simple and gentle pathway with a small ascends just before Dhikur Pokhari. The total duration of the journey will be 05 hours.

Day 15: Chame to Dharapani (1850m)

We will calmly retrace our pathway to Dharapani and the total duration of the journey will be 05 hours.

Day 16: Dharapani to Jagat (1290m)

The slow descend to Jagat will take us approximately 05 hours.

Day 17: Jagat to Bhulbule (800m)

We will retrace our pathway from Jagat to Bhulbule slowly and total duration of the journey will be 04 hours.

Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu

The scenic drive to Kathmandu will take us approximately 07 hours

Day 19: Airport drop for final departure

We will drop you in the airport for the final departure and wish you a safe journey back to your country.
