Restricted Area Manaslu Region Trek

Manaslu is a restricted area and it needs special permit to enter Manaslu Conservation area. The prime attraction factors in Manaslu region are Mount Manaslu (8156 m) and Larkya- La Pass (5235 m). Mount Manaslu is the Eighth highest mountain of the world. Manaslu region trek initiates from Gorkha district and ends in Lamjung district which both lies to the North western side of Kathmandu valley. The Larkya- La Pass joins the Manaslu Conservation area with Annapurna Conservation area. Trekking in Manaslu region is done on the basis of tea house. Bio diverse flora and fauna are conserved in Manaslu region. It conserves and protects 33 species of mammals, 110 species of birds, 3 species of reptiles and more than 2000 species of flowering plants. Itinerary

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival

Upon arrival on the airport, Plan Nepal Adventure staff will pick you up and transfer to a hotel. Our Trekking Manager will meet you in the hotel and discuss about the trekking details.

Day 02: Drive to Aarughat (570m)

The typical countryside drive from Kathmandu to Aarughat will approximately take 08 hours. We will camp overnight at Aarughat.

Day 03: Trek to Soti Khola (730m)

Soti Khola is a famous place for honey hunters of Nepal; the honey hunters are especially famous for hunting honey at very difficult places. The journey to Soti Khola will approximately take 06 hours. The trial will ascend uphill paddy fields along with majority of Gurung settlements. We will have to cross the suspension bridge to reach the destination Soti Khola and make an overnight camp here.

Day 04: Trek to Maccha Khola (930m)

The total duration of trek to Maccha Khola from Soti Khola will approximately take 06 hours. The trial passes through the forests continuously and it encounters the village settlements of Liding and Lapubeshi. The trial also provides the view of Northern face of Mount Manaslu. We will camp overnight at Maccha Khola.

Day 05: 06 hours trek to Jagat (1410m)

The trial to Jagat will initially pass through the natural hot spring called Tatopani which is the best spot for the taking away all the pains and troubles of trekking. From Tatopani, we climb up and across Budi Gandaki River. Then we pass through village settlement of Dobhan and then ascend on the steep stone steps to Thado Bhryang that will ultimately lead us to Jagat.

Day 06: 06 hours trek to Deng (1920m)

The trial to Deng is equally ascending and descending and crossing suspension bridges. We will be walking on the East and West Bank of Budi Gandaki River. We will pass through village settlements of Salleri and Ekle Bhatti. We will pass through steep gorges and bamboo forests and finally cross Deng River to reach Deng.

Day 07: 07 hours trek to Namrung (2700m)

Namrung village provides outstanding views of Siring, Ganesh Himal and Himalchuli Mountain. We can clearly observe the cultures shifting as we will encounter several Gompas and Mani walls through the route. We will pass through the dense forest and then make a steep climb which will lead to Namrung village.

Day 08: 06 hours trek to Samagaon (3530m)

The trial will reward us with breathe taking views of different Mountain peaks. The trial passes through the settlements of Sho, Lho and Shyala villages. We will encounter the several holy Chortens on the trial and discover the unique Himalayan culture. Lho village rewards you with the spectacular views of Mount Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, Ganesh Himal and other surrounding peaks.

Day 09: Acclimatization Day at Samagaon

We will rest on Samagaon in order to acclimatize the body to the environment. Wi-Fi is available at this place. We will visit the Manaslu Base Camp and then if there is enough time then we will make a visit to Punggyen Monastery.

Day 10: 06 hours trek to Samdo (3800m)

The trial to Samdo will pass through Manaslu glacier and thin forests of Birch, Juniper and Rhododendron. We climb up and walk under a stone arch to reach Samdo. There is a branching trial from Samdo that reaches the Tibetan border.

Day 11: 04 hours trek to Dharmashala/ Larke Phedi (4480m)

We will feel the gain of the altitude with the thin air and challenging trial. The trial to Dharmashala ascends upwards through the Juniper forests which provide the views of Larke glacier. After we cross Salka Khola, we will have to make a final climb to the Larke Phedi.

Day 12: 08 hours trek to Bimthang (3700m) via Larkya- La Pass (5235m)

We will ascend to Larke pass in the morning. We will ascend slowly on the snow covered rock which will turn even steeper as we move forward to the pass. The top of the pass rewards you with the excellent views of Mount Himlung, Cheo peak, Kanggaru Himal and Annapurna II. As we descend downhill from the pass, view of Mount Manaslu from different angle can be captured.

Day 13: 06 hours trek to Tilje (2300m)

The trial to Tilje from Bimthang is fairly easy and descending is much easier. The spectacular views of different mountains and peaks are captured all over the trial. The trial will pass through pastures, Rhododendron forests, terrace farms and few tea houses. Tilje is a village settlement where most of the populations are Gurung.

Day 14: Trek to Dharapani and drive to Beshi Sahar

The trek to Dharapani from Tilje is approximately 01 hour. Dharapani lies in the Annapurna Conservation area and from here you can drive to Beshi Sahar on a jeep. The road is rough terrain road in a hilly mountain which is winding continuously. We will stay overnight at Beshi Sahar.

Day 15: 07 hours drive back to Kathmandu

The scenic bus drive from Beshi Sahar to Kathmandu is approximately 07 hours. After reaching Kathmandu you will have enough time for shopping.

Day 16: Departure

We will drop you in the airport for the final departure.
