Garden To Samye Trek 07 Nights/ 08 Days Trek

Garden Monastery to Samye Monastery Trek is  07 nights and 08 days package. This trekking is basically exploring the cultural heritages of Buddhism. Along with the cultural heritages, amazing landscapes in Tibet adds more color to this trek. The trekking is mainly on camping basis.

Day 01 Kathmandu to Lhasa 
Early Morning breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to lhasa Gonggar and transfer to Lhasa. Be greeted and offered a white scarf (called Kada) in a Tibet traditional way which brings you good luck. Then transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart-beating highland view along the Yarlong Tsangpo River (the longest river in Tibet). Check in the hotel and take a rest for acclimatization of high altitude.

Day02 Sightseeing Lhasa 
In the whole morning, we will visit the famous Potala Palace, the winter palace of Dalai Lama, founded in the seventh century by the Tibet king called king Song Ganpo In the afternoon, we will drop a visit of the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. And the home of the statues of the revered Buddha, Shayamuni Every day, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple. And the bustling Barkhor Market

Day03 Start Trek from Ganden Monastery: Ganden Helu - (5.5 HRS) 
In the morning we visit the Gandan Monastery and our trek begins from here. The trail gradually ascends for 1.5 hrs before reaching a saddle marked by a cairn with views of Kyichu valley to Lhasa. Traversing the west side of the ridge from the saddle, the trail reaches a spur surmounted by a cairn, a spring and then the village of Hepu in 2 hrs. 1 hr from Hepu reaches Ani Pangong, a small nunnery. The trail climbs steadily for 1 hour through marshy meadows to Yama Do.

Day 04: Tsopup Chu-Herders's Camp (5 HRS) 
From the Tsotup Chu valley, follow a small tributary entering from the south-west. The route follows steeply upwards for 30 mins until you reach a large basin. The terrain is not particularly difficult to reach Chitu-la pass (5100 m) which is marked by several cairns. A short steep descent will bring you into a basin with three small lakes. The trail at many points is not clearly marked and goes past several seasonal camping sites before it reaches the valley floor.

Day 05 Herder's Camp-Yamalung (5-6 hrs) 
The trail is now wide and easy to follow and goes through forest of shrubs and rhododendrons for 3 hrs. The trail winds through a series of meadows before reaching Gen Do, a place with a ruined stone structure. The forest thins rapidly and we reach the first permanent village of Chantan (4020 m) after leaving Hebu.. In 30-40 mins we arrive at the turn off at Yamalung Valley. Yamalung Hermitage is another 1 hour steep climb from the valley floor.

Day 06 Yamlung-Samye (4 hrs) 
From Yamalung Valley it takes 3.5 - 4 hrs to Samye. We go past the villages of Nyango, Wango and Pisha. From Pisha the entire lower valley of Samye and the golden spires of Samye Monastery can be seen. En route there are several nice meadows for camping.

Day07 Samye Monastery. 
Today we visit Samye Monastery the first monastery in the Tibet with build of three different style [Tibetan, Indian and hanz] Tsedang is the place where every things was first time. I mean our first king. First field, first monastery, first temple and first people are very interesting history. After finishing the visit at Samye monastery then drive to Tsedang

Day 08 Tsedang to airport, 
Today is the end of our tour and we will depart for Gongar airport to catch the flight where you are going to stop.
